Workshop Description

Join us for an all-inclusive week of watercolor painting in the Tuscan countryside with Marcos Beccari. This art retreat aims to provide participants with Marcos Beccari's understanding of the watercolor technique, with an emphasis on portrait painting and the human form. From demonstrations and guided studies with photographic references, students will learn the use of color and value, as well as anatomical rhythm, lighting and expressiveness. Beyond the technical properties of watercolor, the course prioritizes an integrated understanding of the entire painting process, in order to instruct the students to achieve realistic consistency in their artwork. Marcos' first language is Portuguese, during the week he will be accompanied by someone who will help him to translate his teachings to English.

During this all-inclusive art retreat, meals will be home-cooked and eaten together in our large dining room or outside when the weather is nice. In the evenings particiapants will have free use of the grounds to explore, including the swimming pool, woodland, lake and olive groves. There is also a volleyball net, and a games rooom with table tennis and table football. During the week we will host some evening entertanment which everyone is welcome to join, such as a wine tour, cooking class, and picnic in the vineyards.
