Open to all levels of artists looking to learn or improve their skills in plein air painting, whilst enjoying Italian life in the beautiful Tuscan countryside.
During this art retreat Thorgrimur will guide you through important topics, such as, color theory, values, edges and composition. He will show you how these tools all come together to create a finished painting. The aim of this workshop is to enhance your ability to see nature with an artist's eye, taking inspiration from what's in front of you.

During this art retreat all meals will be home-cooked and dinners will be accompanied by Tuscan wine grown at the venue. You will also have the opportunity to take part in a complimentary fresh pasta making class and a wine tour and tasting at the venue.

The Venue
This workshop will take place at Agriturismo Streda, a converted farmhouse and winery located in Chianti, just a 5 minute drive from Vinci (the birthplace of Leonardo Da Vinci).
The agriturismo is located in the Tuscan hills, surrounded by vineyards and olive groves, you can enjoy the stunning view whilst relaxing by the swimming pool, walking through the vineyards, or sitting on the terrace with a glass of wine.

Thorgrimur Einarsson
Thorgrimur is an Icelandic artist, born in Reykjavík in 1980. He spent his teens composing and performing music before enrolling at the School of Audio Engineering in London at the age of 23. After London, musical aspirations led him to the Royal Conservatory in den Haag, Holland, from where he graduated in 2010.
However, having acquired an interest in oil painting during his stay, he found he was further able to articulate his creative outlet in a visual medium, and has almost exclusively focused his attentions on oil painting since then.

NON-PARTICIPATING TRAVEL PARTNERS
You are welcome to bring a partner or friend who is not participating in the course. The €600 fee for non-participating partners includes 6 nights accommodation, transfers, a cooking class, wine tasting and all meals. We will happily assist in planning activities during the days for your partner; such as bike tours, trips to local towns and walks around the surrounding countryside.
